I just love the legend of how abalone received its colors — a tale told through Pasifika cultures, right from New Zealand all the way up to Hawaii. It is said that abalone originally had no shells, and although they were caring and helpful creatures that cleaned the sea floors, they were vulnerable to predators. The god of the seas, Tangaroa, saw how hard abalone worked, yet how difficult it was for them to stay safe. To repay abalone’s kindness, Tangaroa took colors from all around the world — the deepest blues of the ocean, the greens of the forest, and the pinks and purples of the setting sun, and created a shell out of them.

One (1) Mini White Sage Smudge Bundle (about 4”). White sage is a sacred herb that’s been used for centuries by elders to clear and consecrate space. The smoke of ceremonial white sage, in particular, is said to draw positive spirits and discourage the presence of any unwanted energy. Most people find the scent grounding and centering.
