This bundle was made with fresh sage from the same sage farm we’ve been working with since my first bundle ever listed, plus other herbs and flowers to powerfully protect and clear the energy in your space before ritual or ceremony. The sage in these bundles is sourced from a family-owned and operated farm in the high desert mountains of San Diego County, where wild white sage grows naturally. This farm is the only certified organic grower of white sage in the United States, so rest assured that these bundles were produced sustainably and organically! Additionally, this farm is far from urban areas, and thus, the air surrounding it is fresh – free of pollution. The water on the farm has lots of minerals that white sage requires to thrive; this water originally flushed the roots of desert plants like salvia apiana before becoming part of the natural aquifers in this region. The deeper magic of this Samhain Smudge Bundle

White sage is a sacred herb that’s been used for centuries by elders to clear and consecrate space. The smoke of ceremonial white sage, in particular, is said to draw positive spirits and discourage the presence of any unwanted energy. Most people find the scent grounding and centering.

Since ancient times, our ancestors have burned sacred herbs and resins, believing the sacred smoke to raise vibrations, dispel negativity, and assist with spiritual work. Today, we know this process as smudging, and it remains a critical first step in any sacred ritual. I smudge daily to purify my sacred space before ritual, ceremony, or meditation. It’s an integral part of my spiritual practice – it’s what this community was built upon!

Samhain predates modern Halloween and means “summer’s end” in Gaelic. It falls on Halloween night and is considered the end of the Celtic year. Samhain is the Velvet Curtain – a metaphor for the veil between worlds that is both thin and dark, comforting and protective, mysterious and magical. It’s a time of regeneration and new beginnings when we get to gracefully let go of what no longer serves us and surrender it to the night.
