The deeper magic of this Om Engraved Palo Santo

“Om” has no translatable meaning but when chanted, it’s believed to vibrate at the frequency of the universe and can ground and restore your energy. Palo santo is a sacred wood that grows in South America, and its essence is physically and spiritually cleansing. When Spanish monks discovered its purifying and healing properties, they named it “palo santo” which means “holy wood.” The sweet and mellow aromatic oils of palo santo develop over time, after the tree has naturally fallen and spent years on the ground. Working with palo santo is a powerful way to clear negative energies and invite in high vibrations of peace, happiness, clarity, and divine connection. The attraction to palo santo’s fragrance is said to be a sign of spiritual and emotional purity.

At Sage Goddess, we only use sustainably sourced palo santo wood and oils. Our Peruvian partners only harvest wood that has died naturally and has been dead for at least 5 years. We never harm living trees! The dead wood is collected, cleaned, and cut by hand. In addition, we are committed to replanting trees in the forests where we find our wood. This ensures that our palo santo forests are not susceptible to over-harvesting.

Always burn your Palo Santo on an abalone shell or another heat-proof surface. If you’d rather not burn yours, another way to soak in palo santo’s healing magic is to place it in the shower, in an area where it is not in direct contact with the water. The steam from your shower will diffuse the natural oils within the stick, surrounding you in a fragrant and healing vapor. However you choose to work with yours, may it serve you well.
