This is a tool aligned to teachings of my course called Pillars of Priestessing, a seminar in spiritual leadership. In my role as priestess, I not only hold sacred space and develop rituals and ceremonies; I also lead others by example. It is a position not of power, but of humility, knowledge, and direction.
A priestess stands between the known and the unknown, at the threshold of the two worlds. Tasked with leading the way to wisdom, we take others beyond the veil and into their own spirit. It is the divine, the sacred, the eternal that we introduce to others and guide them through, taking them from the world before them into the spiritual plane. This concept of thresholding is where I drew inspiration for this newest offering in my Pillars of Priestesssing course: the Threshold Candle.
Though the priestess is a leader in the truest from, she is also the gateway to mysteries, the one others turn to on their inward journey. It is the priestess’s guidance that helps others across the threshold and move into deeper knowledge. The Threshold candle, scented and anointed with my Sanctus perfume oil, will help you to purify both your spirit and your sacred space. With the inclusion of Sanctus, your candle will burn with extra power as you perform clarifying rituals, or seek to raise the energy within and around you. Let it inspire you, Priestess, as you bridge worlds for those in your ritual circles.
Each Threshold jar candle is 8″x2″ in size and comes adorned as you see here, though sari silk is a natural fiber so please allow for some variation. Each candle is dressed and then charged with sound (drum and singing bowl) before shipping. Your candle will burn for 120 hours. The label is a photo taken at SG headquarters of one of our magical thresholds into the druid forest where I believe the deepest and oldest magic resides.
What I love most is that as these candles burn the herbs and oils burn into the wax, allowing you to receive their magic and energy for the duration of the candle’s life. The scent is light, so please be aware that these are not heavily scented candles. The point of the oil is its energy. And the point of the process is your intention and your presence.We will use this candle when we gather for the second Pillars of Priestessing session at the end of February.
