Faith Incense

As many of you know, my mother recently passed away. And when going through emotional hardship like this, my instinct is to create – to connect with the Earth and find a way to capture the energy and essence of what I’m feeling. Over the past several weeks, I’ve received so many flowers from my family, friends, and beloved Sage Goddess community. Each and every one felt so special, and I thought to myself: How can I make these flowers last forever? I decided to dry them and turn them into a powder, then add my favorite herbs and oils. The result is this offering: Faith Incense.

This incense powder is truly sacred – faith encapsulated in a fragrance. I created it in ceremony, and members of the Sage Goddess community also infused their own words and intentions into the blend. This incense is a combination of motherwort, linden, tulsi, dandelion, wormwood, lavender, oud, and rose – some of the most powerful ingredients for connecting with the spirit realm. I also topped it with dried champaka from my garden, which I gathered the day that my mother passed, and petals from roses my mother gave me. I then infused it with intention drops from three special perfumes: Pearl, a blend I created for my mother’s mother; Cora, a blend I created for my mother’s grandmother; and Matrilinea, a blend I created with my daughter Zoe to honor the feminine lineage – the lines that run between generations of women, connecting us all beyond time and space. Each container also comes with a tumbled rose quartz, the stone of peace, heart-healing, and universal love. 

Faith Incense is an ode to my mother and a symbol of unconditional love. With flowers from her memorial and petals from the rose bushes she gave me over the years for Mother’s Day, it’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime offering – one that I can never create again. It’s so special to me and my family that I’m keeping bottles for my children and future generations. The deeper magic of my Faith Incense

Each and every ingredient in Faith Incense holds deep power. I chose each element of this blend with the intent of channeling my mother’s spirit – a spirit that was all at once warm, sweet, and brilliantly fierce.

Motherwort has long been associated with immortality and spirituality. This herb promotes inner trust and confidence while alleviating overthinking and stress. Linden opens your Heart Chakra – its essence is love in action and is often incorporated in heart work. This herb facilitates a positive mindset, soothes the emotional body, and energizes the spirit. Tulsi, or holy basil, encourages you to release old patterns that no longer serve you. It’s also clearing and brings calm and good luck. Dandelion is associated with growth and transformation. It’s the only flower that represents the Sun, Moon, and stars – the yellow flower symbolizes the Sun, the white puff symbolizes the Moon, and the dispersing seeds symbolize the stars. The dandelion is also a master of survival – it takes root in miraculous places, somehow always finding a way to persist and thrive. Wormwood is a bitter plant named after the Greek goddess Artemis. It’s a Third Eye Chakra herb that facilitates astral travel and spirit connection. Its presence is healing, purifying, and helpful in dreamwork.

Lavender brings tranquility, enhances meditation, and activates the Crown Chakra to activate faith and higher realm connection. It promotes rest and relaxation and is perhaps one of the best oils to use for purification, protection, and healing rituals. Oud originates from the wood of the agar tree, which is also known as “the wood of the gods.” It softens and relaxes you and brings emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness. Oud is often used to attain deep meditative states and connect with the angelic realms. It activates the upper chakras and activates light codes. Rose is a famous symbol of love, beauty, and attraction. It has one of the highest vibrational frequencies of all plants and encourages soul connection while opening channels of receptivity. This flower also symbolizes hope, new beginnings, promises, and healing. The scent of roses is common in the presence of the supernatural. Champaka has a strong, spiritual presence that balances the heart meridian and opens energy flow. It strengthens intuition and deepens prayer and meditation. Each container also comes with a tumbled rose quartz (about 0.75”).
