This offering features two alabaster Peruvian carvings of Pachamama and Pachapapa. The Moon is etched on the back of the Pachamama carving, and the Sun on the back of Pachapapa. The Sun and the Moon represent the two aspects of yourself; your light and dark, or masculine and feminine. Each relies upon and balances the other while working in perfect harmony. These statues represent the cycle of giving and receiving and the abundance that comes from our integrated wholeness.
The deeper magic of these Peruvian Pachamama Pachapapa Carvings
Pachamama, the goddess of Earth, fertility, agriculture, planting, and harvesting, is the feminine embodiment of Earth in ancient Incan mythology while Pachapapa is the masculine embodiment. The name Pachamama literally translates to “Mother Earth” – “pacha” means Earth, cosmos, universe, and “mama” means mother in both Quechua and Aymara languages. Pachamama is the highest divinity of the Andean people because of her role as a protector and her responsibility in ensuring the ripening of crops. Pachamama is directly related to agricultural wealth, as the economy of the indigenous people is based on agricultural production.
