Gem Wise is my course on the magic of gemstones. This year, we are exploring “A World of Magic,” where I take students through an exploration of global civilizations and meta-cultures. The gemstones covered in each class will be available for you to purchase every month in a special Gem Wise set. Members will learn about the metaphysical properties of the gemstones and how to use them.

Each month, we learn about the gemstones of a different civilization. Our examination spans from ancient to contemporary times. Together, we tap into the power of these gems, infusing our own modern practices with their ancient magic. Included in our discovery are each culture’s associated myths and lore that have captivated imaginations for ages.

March 2018 Gem Wise Set: Vedic Astrological Gemstones

This March, we are exploring the vibrant culture of India, a civilization that is alive with ancient traditions. In this Gem Wise set, you will receive five very special gemstones, representing part of the Navaratna, the Vedic Astrological Gemstones. Now, I will not reveal too much here, because we are excited with anticipation to explore the properties of these powerful gems in our classroom this March. This is a special discussion that you won’t want to miss!

Planets influence our reality on a multitude of levels. Vedic Astrological Gemstones can help us work with, and balance planetary influences, while providing beneficial, positive vibrations. This set includes five stones in the spirit of the traditional Vedic Astrological Gemstones: one (1) ruby, the gemstone of the Sun, one (1) sapphire, the gemstone of Saturn, one (1) fossilized coral, in the spirit of Red Coral, for Mars, one (1) Herkimer Diamond, in the spirit of Diamond, for Venus, and one (1) Cat’s Eye, the gemstone of the descending (south) lunar node, known as Ketu in Sanskrit. You will also receive one (1) custom designed acrylic grid to place your Navaratna, the Vedic Astrological Gemstones, upon to unify and strengthen their powerful vibrations.

However, when this is not possible, we gather items that we believe reflect the energy of this civilization. Athena will discuss in class which items are sourced from the country of focus, and which ones simply reflect or represent the energy of this civilization.
