Dear ones, this is a very special offering. Let’s just say that I share a profound connection with these beautiful, graceful creatures. And what better stone to birth a totem to dolphin than malachite? I often crave their wisdom, tranquility, and sense of community. The life giving seas are their domain, which explains their flowing communication, social mindfulness, and fun loving nature. In fact, the name dolphin is originally from the Greek word ‘delphis’, a close relative to the Greek ‘delphus’, a word that literally means womb. I find this synchronicity absolutely magical.
Dolphins and humans have been involved with one another since ancient times. Greek mythology universally depicted them as helpers of humankind, and their appearance was seen as a good omen by sailors. The god Dionysus once transformed his captors into dolphins so they would spend the rest of their lives helping others, and dolphins were the preferred messengers and errand runners for Poseidon.
