It has a black chalcedony and quartz matrix that is full of druzy pockets. The dark colors in this piece come from its dark chalcedony and dendrites. The yellow is from sulfur and limonite. Sulfur quartz gets its yellow color from the presence of sulfur – one of the three alchemical principles known as the Tria Prima.
