February Month of Magic: Laguz and Ingwaz

For the February Month of Magic, Sage Goddess is proud to offer this exciting new addition to our magical wellspring, a beautiful Laguz and Ingwaz Rune set. We have greatly expanded our knowledge of runes throughout the past months, and I am excited to continue exploring their power and symbolism with you. Runes have been used in many magical ways since the beginning of recorded history. They’re a primordial form of psychological assessment, and were cast and read by oracles in the same way Tarot cards or the I Ching are used today.

Runes are derived from the ancient Celtic and Viking alphabet, and traces can be heard in modern German. However, Runic was probably never a spoken language. From their earliest inception, runes were used as a magical and ritualistic form of communication. Runic deciphering was an elite language for magical practitioners.

The Magic of Laguz and Ingwaz Runes

This month we will decipher two runes: Laguz and Ingwaz.

Laguz is the rune of depth. It symbolizes the subconscious – a reminder that magic lives in the depths of the unknown, waiting to be revealed. When we welcome the mysteries of the unknown, we uncover the infinite magic that only grows in the dark. Ingwaz is the rune of peace, reminding us of our spiritual path. It’s only through introspection and solitude, that we can create space for transformation and growth. When we face our inner duality, without fear, and embrace our power, we achieve inner peace.  

Your February Month of Magic set will include the following tools:

First in this set is a pair of wooden tealight holders carved from maple and etched with the runes of Laguz and Ingwaz. You will love incorporating these beautiful treasures into all of your ritual work. You will also receive 1 intuitive tea light per rune in an organza bag.

After that, you’ll receive two wooden runes (made of sassafras or maple) printed with the symbols for Laguz and Ingwaz, about 1-1/2″ in diameter. Your pair of runes include a leather card describing their meanings. Please note that this is genuine leather which will age and change over time.

Next, you will receive a duo of Laguz and Ingwaz perfumes. My Laguz perfume has notes of sandalwood for accessing your subconscious and calming your mind; lemongrass to encourage acceptance and forgiveness; peppermint to encourage trust and understanding. My Ingwaz perfume has notes of cedarwood for protection, safety, and fertility; frankincense for peace, satisfaction, and relaxation; neroli for instilling peace and manifesting desire. Both perfumes come in 15 ml square bottles, and are infused with clear quartz chip stones to amplify their properties.

Lastly, you will receive two stones: a piece of sodalite in correspondence with Laguz and a piece of malachite for Ingwaz. Sodalite is the stone of peaceful sleep and general wellbeing. It banishes nightmares and fears, while deepening your intuition. Malachite protects you from negativity. It fills the auric field with positivity and helps activate your psychic radar. Malachite not only stimulates the Solar Plexus Chakra, activating willpower, but it has a particularly powerful magic over the Heart Chakra.
