This East candle and stone duo conjures potent directional magic. I can’t tell you how many requests I’ve received for directional candles – candles for the north, south, east and west that call in the Guardians of those corners and also bring the properties of those corners to your magical work. This candle and white jade duo represent both Pagan and Native American traditions, where the direction of East on the sacred Medicine Wheel is embodied by the color yellow and the element of Air. I used organic yellow beeswax wax as the first layer of this three-sheet candle, and white jade is a stone of calming, grounding, and focused decision-making.
The magic of this East candle and stone duo
East reigns over the spring season, a season of renewal and sunlight – the direction in which the sun rises. This is also the direction from which we draw inspiration, and honor the wisdom that comes with old age. We face East for completion, peace, non-attachment, death, and birth.
My East candle radiates and harnesses those energies. It is wrapped with sheets of yellow, sage green, and ivory beeswax to represent the rising sun, the knowledge of time, and the neutrality of peaceful non-attachment. Each wax sheet is anointed with my East perfume, a directional invocation blend, and then wrapped with citrine chip stones for gemstone manifestation magic.
White jade is a calming, grounding stone that protects from negative energies. It aids decision-making, keeping distractions at bay and allowing the best results to appear. Here engraved with the word “East” and its symbol, this stone is meant to empower you to stand firmly in your own light.
