Día de los Muertos is one of my favorites holidays in this vein. Day of the Dead is an ancient, sacred holiday celebrated in Mexico, as well as throughout the Americas and in Spain. Traditional celebrations of this occasion are colorful and festive, and focus on building altars for loved ones who have departed this Earth. So I created my new Día de los Muertos ritual incense, and I know you will love it, my dear ones who revel in the celebrations of the dark parts of the year – Day of the Dead, Samhain, Halloween, All Hallows’…or however you choose to celebrate this sacred time.
Working with your Día de los Muertos ritual incense
The making of the ofrenda – or altar – is a vital part of the Day of the Dead traditions, because each altar is designed for an individual person no longer living, and serves to welcome them to the altar. The ofrenda has inspired me to offer this Dia de los Muertos ritual incense to you as a tool for your altar and your work. This potent blend of black storax, calendula blossoms, and rainbow resin is going to envelop you in its magical properties as you work your Día de los Muertos magic.
Incense is not only powerful because it brings scent into your space, it also plays a dual role as a smudge! The smoke from the incense raises energetic vibrations in your space. Incense was in fact the original form of perfume. It was crafted many thousands of years ago, by our ancestors, to create and hold sacred space. Some of the ingredients in those ancient perfumes and incenses are woven into my products too. I believe in carrying forward and honoring the Old Ways in every part of my practice.
