My brand-new Seance Perfume is a portal to the unknown – a reminder of the magic and mystery that exists beyond our world of time and space. The word séance is French for “session” and refers to a meeting with the spirit realm – a time to commune with our protectors and guides beyond the veil. Shadow season is the perfect time for this work: As the veil is lifted, the past meets the present, and all things hidden – both within us and around us – come to play.

This is my absolute favorite blend for shadow season, and when creating it, I was inspired by the seances my mother held before I was born. In fact, I feel like I channeled my mother in this perfume – through some of the most powerful ingredients for visioning and journeywork: Opoponax, vetiver, patchouli, tobacco, labdanum, oud, and a very special oil, coltsfoot. I’ve also infused each bottle with a smoky quartz chip stone for added purification, grounding, and protection. The deeper magic of my Seance Perfume

The power of my Seance Perfume lies in its ingredients. First, I’ve added opoponax: THE oil for spiritual revelation. This oil is an incredible guide in lucid dreaming, trance work, vision questing, deep meditation, and outer realm connection. By opening the upper chakras, opoponax grants you access to the higher realms and the Akashic records – which is why it’s such a popular tool for anyone doing outer realm or shamanic work. Second is vetiver – my favorite oil for grounding. Also known as ruh khus, vetiver helps you maintain calm in the face of adversity. In ancient India, vetiver was placed on funeral pyres as a symbol of reincarnation.

Third is patchouli, an herb of grounding and attraction. The essence of patchouli digs in deep. It helps to break long-held patterns of shame and low self-worth, inspiring balanced introspection and real self-love in turn. Work with patchouli when you’re feeling sad or lost, and you’ll immediately feel its uplifting, connective quality. Next is tobacco, a sacred herb of prayer, protection, purification, and gratitude. Tobacco is native to the Americas and is believed to bridge Earth and Sky – the material and spiritual worlds. When used in ceremony, it aids vision questing and facilitates ancestral connection.

Next is labdanum. This ingredient was called the “perfume of Arabia” by the ancients and is one of the most highly valued scents in perfumery. Its scent is mysterious and sedating yet uplifting – wonderful for meditation and contemplation. Labdanum also brings protection, courage, and strength. Oud increases focus and alertness and is often used to attain deep meditative states and connect to higher realms. It calms the central nervous system, connects you with the upper chakra energies, and activates light codes. Lastly, I’ve added a very special oil: Coltsfoot. Coltsfoot resonates with the water element and is traditionally used in visioning and love spells. It evokes peace and tranquility, and some even say it has the power to bring back long-lost-lovers – physically or spiritually.
