We honor the goddess Pachamama – the Incan goddess of the earth, fertility, agriculture, planting, and harvesting – at August’s full moon. Pachamama is the female embodiment of the Earth in ancient Incan mythology; she and her father were two important deities in Incan custom. She was said to be a dragon who lived at the base of a mountain, and she could cause earthquakes and facilitate change. She was also sometimes depicted as a woman made of corn. Food offerings were sacred to her, as were the llama and guinea pig. Every August, Pachamama is still celebrated in feasts and rituals around Peru and other parts of South America.
How we honor the Goddess Pachamama
These tools honor Pachamama’s Divine gifts of fertility and her power over the harvest season, and they help us to cultivate the connection we have to the Earth. My Pachamama Kit first contains a rolled beeswax candle in sheets of cranberry and brown. Each candle contains moonstone chip stones, and is anointed with Pachamama perfume. It comes adorned with original SG artwork, and a blessing you can read to honor the goddess.
Then you will receive a bottle of my brand new Pachamama perfume, not available outside of this set. This is a sweet, spicy, and sexy blend with notes of chocolate, soil, mango, clove, saffron, and tobacco.
You will also receive a tin containing several herbs chosen to align with Pachamama’s energy: cinquefoil, walnut hull, and ceremonial tobacco. Pachamama’s stones are green aventurine and desert polychrome jasper. Green aventurine is a major workhorse stone that everyone needs to have. Put aventurine in the pot with a plant to make it grow. Place aventurine in your purse, wallet, or cash drawer at work to grow your finances. Keep a piece of aventurine at your desk or near your computer if you want to grow your business. Whatever touches this stone grows. Polychrome jasper is connected to the desert of our ancestors, and reveals the wisdom of nature and the storied knowledge of the land. It brings happiness and peace, and is a gentle stone – but powerful in its ability to calm, center, and ground you.
