Burning Kyphi Egyptian Temple Jumbo Incense Cones is an ancient ceremonial traditional that will delight you. For ancient Egyptians, burning incense was a daily celebration of fragrance, and their favorite incense of all was Kyphi. Every day, great quantities of incense were ritualistically burned, in every temple, and in every household. Frankincense was burned in the morning, myrrh was burned during the day, and Kyphi, (kepet in ancient Egyptian), was burned in the evening.

Egyptian Temple Jumbo Incense Cones Kyphi’s name means, “Welcome to the Gods.” The ingredients of this blended compound contain “all things that delight in the night,” according to Plutarch. Kyphi is made of resins, woods, oils and spices, honey, wine, and dried fruits, and formed into balls and placed over hot coals to release the aroma.
Kyphi has an intoxicating full-bodied aroma with a hint of sweetness and spice. It is both relaxing and refreshing and has a sensual warmth. According to ancient textual sources, Kyphi has been lauded to heal snake bites, cure bad breath, relieve asthma, give a good night’s sleep, enhance dream lucidity, and deepen meditations.
