Explore the depths of your innermost self by working with this Handpainted Sun, Moon, and Tree Shaman Drum. This drum was custom-made just for Sage Goddess in Bali. The drumhead is made of goatskin and hand-painted with a sun, moon, and tree. Its frame is made of meranti wood and it comes with a wooden mallet. Drums have been used in many cultures for centuries and are sacred to many spiritual traditions and practices. I work with mine in ritual and to initiate shamanic journey work for others.

We engage in journeywork and vision questing to channel the great sage within, to encounter the depths of the soul, and to discover the lower realms where we find healing, wisdom, and integration. Shamans are wise people who connect with nature and the spirit world as a channel to guide, protect, and heal their communities. The drum is a powerful tool. Traditionally, women would lead ceremonies with the drum for the purpose of fertility and healing. And the earliest historical record of a drummer was a woman — Lipaushiu, a Sumerian priestess c. 3,000 BC. Music is truly universal in a way that connects us to each other and to Spirit. When created from the heart and with truth and pure intention, it’s a spiritual expression of the most universal nature and the highest order.

The Sun is the planet (technically a star) of purpose, vitality, and creation.
