I found this lovely praying hands in lotus incense burner at the Tucson Gem Show. It’s been hand carved from muong, or iron wood – an incredibly durable material. These two hands, arranged in the timeless and boundless practice of supplication, instantly elucidate love and thanks. Regardless of what god, deity, or celestial being you pray to, this is the universal symbol of contact and communion with the Higher Realms. It is the position from which we offer, ask, and receive.
The lotus flower is another ageless, cross-cultural symbol. It represents rebirth, the life cycle, purity, prosperity, fertility, spirituality, and devotion. This beautifully conceived carving depicts the praying hands emerging from within the lotus flower – what a perfect embodiment of our connection to Great Spirit.
How to Use This Praying Hands in Lotus Incense Burner
Set an incense cone within the base of the lotus flower and place the praying hands back on top. The smoke will dance out through the hands and fingertips in an enchanting display. As it smolders, allow it to fill your sacred space with whatever ancient attars you’ve chosen to align with your ritual (or to simply scent your home).
